Toffees hopeful over Naughton

Everton remain confident of landing Sheffield United defender Kyle Naughton. The Toffees agreed a fee with United last week for the exciting full-back, but Tottenham are trying to hijack the move by also tabling an offer Naughton. Everton and Spurs are also believed to be battling it out for Kyle Walker, but Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright remains hopeful of luring Naughton to Goodison Park. "Basically we agreed a deal on Thursday night with Sheffield for the transfer of Kyle Naughton and we were hopeful last weekend that we could meet the boy and do a medical and things are ongoing as we say," Kenwright told Sky Sports News. "The boy hasn't had his medical and the boy is not an Everton player yet."
