Everton are reportedly among a host of Premier League clubs competing for the signature of 1860 Munich's German starlet Peniel Mlapa.[LNB] Reports previously suggested that the Toffees were close to concluding a deal for the young striker, who is very highly-rated. However, they now appear premature.[LNB]Togo-born Mlapa, 19, is already a fixture in 1860's first team and scored six goals last season as they finished mid-table in Bundesliga.2.[LNB]He is also part of Germany's Under-19 squad, where he has impressed a number of scouts.[LNB]He will be taking part in the Elite Round of the European Under-19 Championship later this month in Holland and several clubs are ready to take a close look at him.[LNB]His English agent Peter Harrison confirmed that interest was growing in Mlapa, but denied a deal had been agreed with Everton.[LNB]"To suggest a deal is done with Everton is somewhat premature," Harrison told skysports.com.[LNB]"They are interested in Peniel, but a number of Premier League clubs are very keen on him.[LNB]"He is an outstanding prospect and I would be surprised if he did not move to England this summer."
