Everton should hear the result of the public inquiry into their new stadium plans well before the previously expected date of November. The club have been made aware that the Government's planning inspectorate has acknowledged "frustration" that November 27 had been set for a decision. It now hopes Communities Secretary Hazel Blears will make an announcement "well before" that deadline. Everton are hoping to join forces with Tesco for a new stadium and shopping complex in nearby Kirkby, with the inquiry report likely to be completed by July. Everton spokesman Ian Ross said: "We have always said we would welcome a decision as early as possible and that's still the case. "We knew the decision was due by the end of November, but it is heartening to hear that it may come sooner than that."
