DARREN BENT Tottenham to Sunderland/Newcastle/Everton:[LNB]The two goals Bent scored for Tottenham against Bolton on Saturday could not have been better timed. Tottenham realised they could ill-afford to lose him unless they got Robbie Keane or Roque Santa Cruz but interest from other clubs moved up a notch.[LNB] Tottenham could have been persuaded to let Bent go once they knew Keane was on his way back but it was still a risk.[LNB] Everton wanted him on loan which wasn't going to happen while Newcastle offered £10m and their bid was matched by Sunderland. All three will go back for the England international in the summer[LNB] KEVIN KURANYI Schalke to Tottenham/Blackburn/Everton: [LNB]The former Germany international was desperate to leave his club but a 25million euro buy-out clause was always going to make that difficult.[LNB] Blackburn had earmarked the 6ft 3ins striker as a possible replacement to Roque Santa Cruz but once it became clear that Manchester City would not be offering the desired £25m for the Paraguayan, Blackburn's need diminished. [LNB]Agent Barry Silkman was then frantically working on a deal for Everton but Schalke were determined to keep their man. Tottenham contacted Schalke too but didn't follow up their interest[LNB] KIERAN RICHARDSON Sunderland to Newcastle/Bolton: [LNB]Richardson is a key figure for Sunderland. His form may be inconsistent but his quality should come through and manager Ricky Sbragia was determined to keep hold of his man. [LNB]The former Manchester United midfielder was wanted to add pace and poise to Newcastle's midfield as they look to improve their left hand side. They have concerns over Damien Duff, sold Charles N'Zogbia and had also inquired about Kris Commons at Derby. [LNB]Bolton tried desperately to sign several players but were limited by how far they could stretch their budget. Pedro Mendes, Miguel Veloso and Sean Davis were among their other misses.[LNB] VICTOR ANICHEBE Everton to Hull: [LNB]The loan deal was always a last throw of the dice by Phil Brown as he looked to add to his depleted squad. [LNB]Brown had been sidetracked by negotiations with Roma defender Christian Panucci's representatives, has concerns over Jimmy Bullard's knee injury and knew he had to bring in another striker. [LNB]The trouble is Everton have greater concerns with injuries to Yakubu, James Vaughan and Louis Saha and David Moyes could not allow Anichebe out unless he could guarantee at least two in. Jo came from Manchester City and he also tried for Kuranyi but that failed to come off. Moyes also inquired about Portsmouth winger Glen Little[LNB] SEAN DAVIS Portsmouth to Bolton/Middlesbrough: [LNB]The combative midfielder is out of contract in the summer and could yet make a move to Bolton. He was unsure about the move at first but Bolton showed their intent with a £2m offer and he was ready to go. [LNB]Portsmouth though had other ideas and he was then offered as a makeweight in a proposal to bring Gary O'Neil back from Middlesbrough. Davis may now be offered a new three year deal at Portsmouth but he will likely wait until the end of the season to make up his mind. Everton are also interested.[LNB] Pompey did sign Angelos Basinas and could yet go back for Panathinaikos midfielder Andreas Ivanschitz or Tottenham's Giovanni Dos Santos in the summer.[LNB] [LNB]
