Victor Anichebe was on target as Everton beat Sydney FC 1-0 in their first pre-season game in Australia today. The striker scored a minute into the second half, receiving a passfrom Leighton Baines and turning well before shooting into the roof ofthe net. Victor victorious: Anichebe notches the only goal in the friendly Australia international Tim Cahill received a tremendous reception from the 40,000 strong crowd inside the ANZ Stadium when he came on at half-time. The way we passed it looked a lot like the way we were playing towards the end of last season. 'We controlled most of the game but they were a bit of a threat. They weren't a poor team by any means, I actually think they were one of the better teams we have played in pre-season.'
