Swelling forces Fellaini to wait
12 Feb 2010 - 15:23:39
Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has still not been able to have his ankle injury assessed because the swelling is so bad.
The 22-year-old Belgium international was injured in a clash with Liverpool's Sotirios Kyrgiakos last weekend at Anfield in an incident which led to the Reds defender being sent off.
Fellaini missed an initial appointment with a specialist on Wednesday as his train was cancelled but a further meeting was postponed 24 hours later because of the swelling in his ankle.
Toffees boss David Moyes told the club's official website: "We've put Fellaini's appointment back until the swelling goes down a bit more. We don't want to speculate until then."
It is feared that the former Standard Liege star faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
