Sunderland boss Steve Bruce plans move for Tottenham's David Bentley

Steve Bruce is considering a fresh move for Tottenham misfit David Bentley and could face competition from Everton. The 26-year-old has started just one game this season and will be allowed to leave if a suitable deal can be found. We'll take him: David Bentley could be on his way to Sunderland in either a loan deal or a permanent move Tottenham are also understood to be willing to loan him out for a £1m fee. A permanent deal could prove difficult unless Sunderland sell first with Tottenham keen to recoup most of the £15m they paid for him. A loan move could only be permitted if they can finalise a permanent £5m deal for Manchester City's Nedum Onuoha who has been outstanding. Blue again? Everton are also interested in Bentley but they are waiting to see if Landon Donovan returns for another spell from LA Galaxy Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp wants to fund a new striker in January and offloading Bentley would help. Everton are interested also but are waiting to find out their budget and whether Landon Donovan will rejoin them on loan from LA Galaxy. Redknapp rules out bid for Benzema ahead of plans for January spreeSunderland 2 Everton 2: Late Arteta strike cancels out Welbeck double as Toffees salvage point TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
