Beckford latches on to a bouncing ball beating Gordan to it 20 yards out, but poking his shot over the bar! Now he HAS to hit the target what a miss![LNB]90+3min: Incredible! Malbranque breaks in to the box slips the ball to Welbeck who on a hat-trick eight yards out drags his shot wide! Not a sitter but he is fuming with himself as he should at least make Howard work.[LNB]90+2min: Four minutes of injury time and I wish it was 14, this has been a joy to watch.[LNB]89min: No rest for the wicked, both sides are still going for this, is there a cruel twist?[LNB]86min: Wasteful from Bent, to the left of goal at an angle in the box he opts to shoot at the near post and sends it wide. Number one rule - shoot across the goal.[LNB]85min: Additional sub from Bruce as he sends on Ahmed Elmohamady for the tiring Henderson.[LNB] Spirit: Everton hit back late on through Mikel Arteta[LNB]83min: GOAL! Sunderland 2-2 EVERTON[LNB]Instant response but an element of luck to cancel out Richardson's offside. Mikel Arteta turns Welbeck into knots just outside the box before his shot takes a wicked deflection off Bardsley and beating a helpless Gordan.[LNB]82min: If this was a casino Moyes would be placing his mortgage on red as he sends on Jermaine Beckford and Yakubu with Saha and Heitinga coming off. Time attack.[LNB]81min: Corner for Everton. Baines hits an out-swinger that is cleared before Neville's ball back in te box has too much trajectory making an easy catch for Gordan.[LNB]78min: Watching the goal again, Richardson is a couple of yards offside out on the right wing before he receives the ball. Which is precisely the difference between him and the linesman. Bad moment for the assistant.[LNB]76min: Everton as you expect push forward in the manner they have all game, a defeat would seem harsh on them, they have played well enough for a draw.[LNB]74min: Rodwell crashes in on a challenge with Bardsley and the latter is absolutely furious as he lashes out on the Everton midfielder. Not enough to warrant disciplined action but the challenge was worthy of a booking and that is exactly what Rodwell gets.[LNB] Fans delight: Sunderland celebrate Welbeck's second goal[LNB]71min: GOAL! SUNDERLAND 2-1 Everton[LNB]Slight hint offside when the ball is played out to the wing but there is no doubting the finish as Danny Welbeck rises highest to a cross, heading across Howard and into the top corner. That is three in two now for the Manchester United loanee.[LNB]70min: Sloppy from Arteta, Welbeck catches him out on the half-way lone before sliding through Bent who has his shot blocked out for a corner as he enters the penalty area.[LNB]69min: Steve Bruce reacts by bringing on Steed Malbranque for Zenden.[LNB]67min: Important block. Pienaar receives a square pass from Arteta across the box and just as he is about to pull the trigger Nedum Onuoha comes across to block with a sliding challenge.[LNB]66min: First change from Everton, Jack Rodwell is on for Coleman.[LNB]63min: Talk about an anti-climax! Coleman, Neville and Cahill are a heart beat away from getting shots away in the box in a matter of seconds and as Mikel Arteta attempt to send in another cross he slips and Sunderland manage to advance out with the ball.[LNB]60min: This game is crazy, the ball just does not seem to get in the midfield.[LNB]Both sides are taking it in turns to pressure each others goal and there seems to be no midfield play involved.[LNB]57min: The offside flag saves Bent. A ball in the box finds him at the far post but his volley from 10 yards out clips the top of the crossbar as it flies over. He should score and he looks relived to see the linesman flag in the air.[LNB]54min: So close to an Everton second! Cahill beats Gordan to a loose ball seven yards out and with the ball heading towards the net, Michale Turner slides across to clear...sliding into the post in the process. [LNB]Luckily for him he avoids doing a Phil Babb and catching the crown jewels but he will have to come off for a few seconds.[LNB] Control: Lee Cattermole brings the ball down under pressure from Tim Cahill[LNB]51min: Top stuff from Lee Cattermole too, he makes a 20 yard run with the ball into the penalty area before a late challenge brings him down. Zenden's follows up but it's deflected out for a corner which Everton survive.[LNB]50min: How long until Sir Alex calls him back? Welbeck plays a great one-two with Richardson before firing low to Howard's left, with the keeper making a smart save.[LNB]48min: Everton continue where they left off...on top. No chances yet though.[LNB]Second-half: Sunderland get us going, no changes from either side.[LNB]21.00: Going into the second-half I make Everton favourites just by the virtue that Baines has been a constant threat down the left and I expect him to remain so.[LNB]20.58: In fact that half always had one team on top, Everton were on top until they scored but after that it was all Sunderland.[LNB]Everton finished the last 10 minutes the stronger side and there was hardly any time spent bogged down in the centre.[LNB]Great advert for football so far.[LNB]20.53: Very enjoyable half that, both sides have had spells where they looked like scoring and the scoreline is a fair reflection at this stage.[LNB]Half-time: Sunderland 1-1 Everton[LNB]45+2min: Frantic end as Everton pile forward like they are searching for an injury time equaliser.[LNB]But it's Sunderland with the last chance as Bardsley's cross from the left is headed over by Bent. Difficult chance though that considering his angle to goal.[LNB]45+1min: Just two minutes of injury time.[LNB]44min: Madness in the Sunderland penalty area. Cahill, Baines and Pienaar are all involved in either trying to pass or shoot as Sunderland desperately lunge in from all angles to prevent any of the two from happening.[LNB]They succeed as well, with the ball in the end going out for a goal kick.[LNB]43min: Now Everton have a free-kick, 35 yards out but Distin's long ball in the box is cleared albeit only for a throw in.[LNB]42min: Sunderland have a free-kick out right 35 yards out but Zenden's in swinging cross is met by Howard who comes out confidently to punch clear.[LNB]41min: Action has died down for a second. very rarely has this game been anything but on edge, great stuff.[LNB]38min: Away side have really come back in to this, the home fans very quiet now as their side struggle. Loius Saha has a shot that is unconvincingly blocked by Gordan before Sunderland clear.[LNB]36min: More Everton pressure and Baines whips in another corner but this time it misses everyone as it sails out for a goal kick.[LNB]33min: How close is that?! Baines' corner is headed by Cahill (again) goalwards but Henderson on the line manages to prevent it crossing the line.[LNB]Moments later Gordan comes for a high ball and misses completely on the edge of the box with Cahill laying the ball back for Sylvain Distin to blast over. Waste.[LNB]32min: Everton finally have some of the play. Pienaar and Baines link up well again on the left with the latter winning a corner after his cross is deflected behind.[LNB]28min: Gordan into action as Pienaar tries a speculative effort from 25 yards out, it's easy meat for a keeper though with it being straight at him.[LNB]27min: So close from Richardson. Bardsley slips through the winger on the edge of the box and on his weaker right foot stabs it just wide of the near post.[LNB]26min: No let up from Sunderland they can continue to dominate. The only thing Graig Gordan has had to do in the Sunderland goal is pick the ball out the net.[LNB] Wel-done: Welbeck equalised after a spell of Sunderland pressure[LNB]23min: GOAL! SUNDERLAND 1-1 Everton[LNB]It's been coming. Zenden does superbly to shake off his marker on the right before advancing towards the byline, cutting inside the penalty area before squaring for Danny Welbeck to do the easy bit in tapping it home.[LNB]20min: I have seen those given too, Phil Bardsley goes down near the left byline after a clumsy shove by Seamus Coleman but this time the referee ignores any notion of a foul completely, giving a goal kick.[LNB]Sunderlands fans are again furious, I'm not sure Walton is going to survive this.[LNB]18min: Richardson, Bruce and the Sunderland fans are fuming.[LNB]Richardson is hacked by John Hetinga but with the winger getting up and continuing his run towards goal is brought back by being given a free-kick.[LNB]He wasn't clean through but he looked like he was about to pull the trigger and I can't understand why Peter Walton has brought that back. Heitinga is booked.[LNB]16min: From what was steady pressure is starting to turn in to a one sided game as Sunderland remain camped in the visitors half. Kieran Richardson breaks away on the left but his cross is well cleared by the defence, no doubt they will be back.[LNB]14min: Sunderland looking more threatening. Zenden attempts to chip the ball though in to the box to an unmarked Bent but it ends up going straight to Howard. they keep probing though do the home side.[LNB]12min: Another free-kick for Sunderland but this is more central and 25 yards out.[LNB]This time Jordan Henderson that curls it around the wall but Tim Howard saves well taking two attempts to fully hold it.[LNB]10min: Signs Sunderland are finding their feet as they win a free-kick 35 yards out to the left.[LNB]The ball in though is headed away by Cahill, is there a better player at heading the ball in the Premier League?[LNB]8min: Everton remain on the ascendancy and much of the play is in Sunderland's half right now.[LNB]I'm still regretting my decision not to put a tenner on Cahill scoring a header.[LNB] Head start: Tim Cahill nods Everton into the lead after squeezing between defenders Turner and Ferdinand (R)[LNB] [LNB]6min: GOAL! Leighton Baines does fantastic on the left to play a one-two with Steven Pienaar before hitting an out-swinging cross into the penalty box where Tim Cahill rises highest to head home.[LNB]4min: Some early game sparring so far, not too much action going on.[LNB]2min: Sunderland looking the sharper of the two as they win an early corner. Bolo Zenden's corner though is comfortably cleared.[LNB]Kick-off: And we are up and running...[LNB]19.58: Just going through all the pre-match rituals we have in the Premier League now, we should be underway in a sec.[LNB]19.55: Teams ready to come out where they will be greeted not just by a loud Stadium of Light crowd but also by plenty of rain.[LNB]The elements are looking forward to this one too.[LNB]19.52: At this stage of the season no such glamour thoughts for Everton who just one point off the the drop zone will need to shake off a relegation battle before they start aiming for Europe.[LNB]Win tonight though and that will be just what they will do.[LNB]19.49: As mentioned this is a big opportunity for Sunderland tonight, not only does a win put them in the race for the Champions League, but also just six points off the top. Impressive that.[LNB]19.43: Not that I'm trying to help Sunderland out with tactics but opta have dropped us this gem from the land of stats.[LNB]Six of Tim Cahill's last seven headed goals in the Premier League have come away from home.[LNB]19.40: I have to admit that Gyan omission has partly ruined it for me this evening, I was fascinated to see if Bruce was going to do with the conundrum facing him.[LNB]Bent and Gyan up front together?
