Spurs join Everton in £9m battle for Brazilian midfielder Bastos
Tottenham have been linked with a £9million move for Brazilian midfielder Michel Bastos after apparently watching him in action for Lille.
Reports in France say Harry Redknapp's scouts saw the 25-year-old line up against Saint-Etienne on Saturday.
Bastos is under contract till 2012, but Lille will struggle to hold on to a player tipped to win the French League's player of the year after scoring 13 times from midfield this season.
The uncapped player has also been linked with Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City in England, as well as Bayern Munich, Lyon and Juventus.
