Louis Saha is hoping to play a major part in Everton's future by earning a new long-term deal.[LNB] The French striker joined the Toffees from Manchester United last summer on a two-year 'pay-as-you-play' contract.[LNB]Having seen his time at Old Trafford disrupted by injury, David Moyes was reluctant to offer Saha a regular deal.[LNB]The 30-year-old once again found himself on the treatment table at regular intervals last season, but does appear to be heading in the right direction.[LNB]He managed 14 Premier League appearances for Everton in the 2008/09 campaign, scoring six goals.[LNB]HistorySaha also made history last Saturday as he scored the fastest ever goal in an FA Cup final.[LNB]His early strike was unable to prevent the Toffees slipping to a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, although he did waste a glorious second half opportunity, with the scores tied at 1-1, to hand Everton the advantage.[LNB]He admits that miss still weighs on his mind, but he is determined to look to the future - a future he hopes will be at Goodison Park.[LNB]"I wish I had hit the target but it wasn't to be," Saha said in The Sun.[LNB]"I'll have to move on from that and hope I can prove I'm worth a long stay with Everton."[LNB]
