Royle praise for Moyes

Oldham Athletic manager Joe Royle has praised Everton boss David Moyes for another 'terrific job done' this season. The Scot has impressed at Goodison this term in keeping Everton well within the hunt for European football, whilst leading the club to an FA Cup semi-final later this month against Manchester United. Royle was in charge of the last Blues side to pick up silverware, when in 1995 his unfancied players triumphed against all the odds to beat Sir Alex Ferguson's men in the final itself. And he believes the current Goodison Park outfit can pull off the same result, fourteen years on. Royle told skysports.com: "David has done a smashing job - especially when you consider the injuries, suspensions and what not. "He's still managed to get some great results and carried on doing that even though his striking options were limited. Add in the loss of Mikel Arteta, who is a very important piece of the jigsaw there, and it really has been an impressive achievement. "As for the FA Cup game against Manchester United later this month, Everton are very capable of getting a result and upsetting the odds. "When we beat United in the Final in 1995 nobody gave us a chance and we managed to prove everyone wrong. There is no reason why that can't happen again and everybody knows my love for the club, I'll be hoping it does happen. "It's been too long for such a special, big old-fashioned club like Everton not to have won some silverware and they have a great opportunity to end that spell this year." Everton play Wigan Athletic on Sunday in the Premier League.
