ROYAL BLUE: Man Utd star Wayne Rooney's rift with Everton is a step close to harmony

Guarded by United heavies, Wayne Rooney signs autographs at Old Trafford (158)[LNB]IT COULD be the most unlikely of revived friendships since Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams kissed and made up.[LNB]But it seems that relations between the prodigal son Wayne Rooney, and his former employers Everton FC are thawing.[LNB]I don't know whether it was the moment Rooney shook hands with David Moyes at Old Trafford earlier this season.[LNB]Or revelations that the Croxteth-born star cheered on his former club at Wembley in May.[LNB]But there is definitely the clunking sound of bridges being rebuilt emanating from both sides of the M62 lately.[LNB]Of course, it's not a sentiment shared by every Evertonian.[LNB]Many will still angrily point to Rooney's undignified exit from Goodison after the club offered to make him the highest paid player in its history, or his badge-kissing and provocative antics after scoring against the team he supported as a boy.[LNB]But others will insist that the deal which took the prodigy to Manchester United, effectively saved Everton from financial oblivion. It certainly has not hampered their prospects since.[LNB]Regardless of your take on the issue, it is interesting to see that Rooney was happy to be interviewed for Everton's website and online TV channel by the Blues' media and publications manager Darren Griffiths.
