Round backs Moyes to get it right

David Moyes is leaving "no stone unturned" in his quest to turn around Everton's poor start to the season.

That is the view of Moyes' assistant Steve Round, who says the Toffees manager is determined to arrest a run that has yielded just two points from five Barclays Premier League games.

"He is resilient and he is tough," said Round of Moyes. "His main focus is on turning everything around. He is not happy, that is for sure, and I think the players have experienced that."

Round added: "He will be determined to drive the team forward and get back to where we should be.

"There is no question there will be no stone unturned with his preparation and attention to detail.

"This guy is an absolutely outstanding manager and he has managed at the highest level in the Premier League for a long time.

"He will certainly be using all that experience, talent and knowledge to make sure we come out winning."

Moyes felt his side had played well for little reward in their first four outings but the below-par display in the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle at Goodison Park on Saturday has hardened his resolve.

Round said: "For the first time on Saturday our performance let us down and we did not get the result either.

"The players were very down after the game and we do need a lift.
