Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell hopes to use the platform of a new long-term contract at Goodison Park to build an England career.[LNB] The 19-year-old, who yesterday signed a deal to keep him at Goodison Park until 2015, has made 11 appearances and scored two goals for the under-21s.[LNB]But Rodwell is keen to progress for both club and country and has set his sights on breaking into Fabio Capello's squad in the near future, similar to what he did at Everton just over two years ago.[LNB]"I've played a few times for England Under-21s now and it has been brilliant," he said.[LNB]"It is my dream to play for the senior side and I hope that will happen soon."[LNB]Rodwell was linked with a £15million move to Manchester United this summer but signing a new contract has kept him out of the clutches of a host of top clubs who were interested in him.[LNB]The midfielder is convinced he can enjoy success with the Toffees, and took great encouragement from his personal performances this season and the form shown by the team in the second half of the campaign.[LNB]Manager David Moyes also played an important part in the teenager's thinking.[LNB]"You look at the players here at the moment and it is a brilliant squad on paper and with the manager we have got the club can move forward," said Rodwell.[LNB]"If we can get everyone fit like we did the back-end of this season I think we can definitely push for the top four and the Champions League - that is our aim for the foreseeable future.[LNB]"David Moyes has been brilliant not just with me but with the other youngsters and I am very happy to work under him.[LNB]"His track record with the younger players has been brilliant and it has shown with the likes of me, Victor Anichebe, James Vaughan and Dan Gosling that the proof is in the pudding and it is a great club to be at.[LNB]"I got a lot more exposure at the start of the season, starting probably the first 20 games but then I got an injury which cut things a bit short and I didn't get as much of a run at the back-end of the season as I would have liked.[LNB]"But it's been a good season for me, I've played a lot of games and gained a lot of experience."
