Rodwell focused on club form

Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell is flattered by calls for him to be promoted to England's senior side but insists he will not be distracted from playing well for his club. The 19-year-old, who will play for England's Under-21s against Uzbekistan, is keen to get off to a good start with the Toffees in the Barclays Premier League. "I'm looking forward to the new season," Rodwell told TheFA.com. "It's flattering to hear those things (about the full squad) but all I can do is concentrate on my job...and that's Everton's first game against Blackburn this weekend. "I always believe in my ability no matter what level I play at. "Hopefully I can get a lot of games for Everton this season and what happens after that is a bonus. "It's inspiring to see...the likes of Joe Hart and James Milner, Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere (in the senior side) - hopefully a few more can do that too."
