Rodwell confident of Toffees success

Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell reckons the Toffees can achieve big things this season providing their top players manage to stay fit.[LNB] Everton endured an injury-hit campaign last season but a strong finish saw them claim eighth place in the Premier League.[LNB]David Moyes has bolstered his squad with the captures of France Under-21 striker Magaye Gueye from Strasbourg and Jermaine Beckford from Leeds.[LNB]and Rodwell believes the Toffees can push on this term.[LNB]The teenager told Sky Sports News: "It showed at the back end of last season that we've got the squad to beat the big teams, especially with a fully fit squad, hopefully that's what we'll start with and if we get a good run I think we can definitely do things this season."[LNB]Rodwell believes the signing of former Leeds striker Beckford can only boost the squad.[LNB]"Beckford obviously will be a good signing, add a goal threat to us as well so that can only help us," he said.[LNB]There has been speculation that Spanish playmaker Mikel Arteta may be wanting a move back to his homeland, while Arsenal and Manchester City are also reported to be interested in the player.[LNB]But Rodwell hopes the midfielder will stay at the club.[LNB]"He is a great player at this club, the fans love him and he adds a lot to the team, his composure on the ball so you never know what happens but we'll all want him to stay definitely," said Rodwell.
