Quakers swoop for Barnett

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Steve Staunton has continued to strengthen his Darlington squad with the loan signing of Moses Barnett from Everton.[LNB] Having captured experienced striker Noel Whelan on a non-contract basis earlier this week, Staunton has now brought in Barnett on a month-long deal.[LNB]Barnett, who can play at centre-back or left-back, will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game against Dagenham & Redbridge.[LNB]Staunton had also hoped to sign Robbie Threlfall but he has returned to parent club Liverpool after snubbing the chance to join the Quakers.[LNB]"Everyone was happy with the deal with Robbie, but on Friday morning he had a change of heart after talking to Liverpool's reserve team coach," said Staunton.[LNB]"This happens and we move on. I don't want players here who don't want to be here, and we're delighted that Moses was available. We know a lot about him, we knew we needed a left-back and he was one of three players we were looking at.[LNB]"He's a very athletic player, tall and quick, so he should be a good acquisition for us. [LNB]"We're looking to bring players in from Premier League clubs so hopefully this is a positive sign."[LNB]
