Pienaar pledges Toffees future

South Africa midfielder Steven Pienaar has confirmed that he would like to remain with Everton next season, having been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park.

The talented 28-year-old playmaker was speaking after being named as his club's Player of the Year, with Pienaar a rumoured target for a number of top clubs across the continent.

"Hopefully we can kick on from here to next season and the coming years," Pienaar commented.

"We have got the potential. The people behind the club really want it to happen and so do the players."

Asked whether he would still be with the Toffees to help out, Pienaar added: "For sure, why not?"

Pienaar joined Everton for £2million from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2007 and has since scored 11 goals in 112 appearances for the Merseysiders.
