Pienaar agrees permanent deal

Everton boss David Moyes has agreed a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Steven Pienaar on a permanent basis.

The 26-year-old South Africa international has agreed a three-year deal that will keep him at Goodison Park until July 2011.

Everton will pay the Bundesliga side just over £2million for Pienaar's services.

The former Ajax star initially joined the Toffees on a season-long loan last summer, and has gone on to score twice in 37 appearances for the club.

Earlier this month, Moyes had said: "Steven has done well for us. He's one of the reasons our football has improved. He's a really good football player."

Pienaar made his name with Ajax after signing for the Dutch side in 2001, making more than 100 appearances for the club before moving to Dortmund on a three-year deal.

He failed to impress last season though after being bought as a replacement for Tomas Rosicky, making only 25 appearances for the club.
