South African international Steven Pienaar has snubbed Everton's initial offer of a new contract, skysports.com understands. The creative midfielder has impressed hugely for David Moyes' side since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2007. Initially on loan, Pienaar was snapped up by Moyes on a permanent deal the following summer. Now, with two years left on his current contract, Everton are keen to tie down the former Ajax star to a long-term deal. However, Everton's opening offer to the 27-year-old has been shunned by Pienaar and his representatives. News of Pienaar's decision to shun a new deal has alerted a number of clubs, including Atletico Madrid, although talks are continuing between the player and Everton.
