When Jo strolled out of the Everton[LNB]changing room sporting none other than a ludicrous headband at St James' Park, his bemused team-mates (with the exception of Marouane Fellaini) might well have uttered: 'You cannot be serious?!'[LNB]Rather than shearing off his long locks, the on-loan Manchester City[LNB]striker instead opted to hold it all in place with the mother of all hair accessories.[LNB]Inspired by the likes of John McEnroe, former British long-distance runner David Bedford (or the 118 118 guys) and his Brazilian pal Ronaldinho, Jo's latest craze could get the Everton's merchandising chiefs in a head spin.[LNB][LNB][LNB][LNB] Hand up if you think Jo looks silly: Joesph Yobo (R) lends his headband wearing Everton team-mate Jo (L) some morale support[LNB] [LNB]After all, the headband could go onto become every Goodison Park fans must-have.[LNB]Here, Sportsmail [LNB]takes a look at some of the other headband trend-setters in sport...[LNB]In his prime, tennis legend John McEnroe's headbands were as infamous as his court rants.[LNB]A pity, though, the look failed to work for Andy's brother, Jamie Murray.[LNB] Hair today, gone (thankfully) tomorrow! [LNB]Bedford (now race director of the London Marathon) was not best pleased when the boys from 118 118 'stole' his look.[LNB] Got your number: Former long-distance hero Bedford (left) and the 118 118 boys[LNB]Since his high-profile £19million move to England, Jo (two goals on his Everton debut aside) has failed to light up the Premier League.[LNB]Swiftly sent packing from Eastlands at the first possible opportunity by City boss Mark Hughes, it seemed, at 21, the Brazilian was a hugely spent force.[LNB]But, cue the headband, and cue results. Well, something that appears to have worked across the north-west anyway.[LNB]Take Manchester United's[LNB]Carlos Tevez and Liverpool's[LNB]Fernando Torres. Nineteen goals between them so far this season, all of which wearing the headband... stuff to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.[LNB] Double trouble: The head band has worked wonders for Carlos Tevez and Fernando Torres across the north-west[LNB] [LNB] Who could forget David Beckham's 'Alice-band' The England and AC Milan midfielder rustled a few feathers when he joined the likes of Ronnie O'Sullivan and Nathan Bracken in sporting the awful accessory.[LNB]And don't be surprised to see Jo wearing one of those against West Bromwich Albion at Goodison next weekend...[LNB] Alice in wonderland: Beckham sporting his infamous Alice Band[LNB]But having the last laugh at his compatriot must be Beckham's headband-wearing AC Milan colleague, Ronaldinho.[LNB]The Brazil icon is rarely seen without without his trademark head piece.[LNB]But while the former Barca playmaker fools his opponents on the pitch with his flair, Jo just continues to fool himself.[LNB] Having the last laugh: Ronaldinho in typically buoyant fashion - with his hair band[LNB] Hair today, gone (thankfully) tomorrow!
