Phil Jagielka 300[LNB]PHIL JAGIELKA is hoping a strong finish to the season with Everton will help him launch a late push for inclusion in England's World Cup squad.[LNB]The Blues centre-back has recently returned to action after a serious knee injury and is set to make his first appearance at Goodison for over 10 months against Hull City on Sunday.[LNB]Jagielka knows he is running out of time to force his way into Fabio Capello's plans before the pre-World Cup training squad is named on May 16.[LNB]But the 27-year-old, who is keen to add to his three caps, is refusing to give up hope.[LNB]'Maybe the World Cup will come too soon for me but a lot can happen between now and May,' he said.[LNB]'Once Christmas came and went and I still wasn't playing I resigned myself to not being able to kick on and at least give Fabio Capello a headache. But I'm fit now and I've got 11 games left for Everton.[LNB]'All I can do is perform well and get as much football as possible under my belt.[LNB]'If I was a gambling man I wouldn't put too much money on me making it but you never know.[LNB]'People can get injured and people can have a good or bad run of form so I'll keep battling.'[LNB]Jagielka, who last played for England against Ukraine last April, admits he has been inspired by the rise of team-mate Leighton Baines.[LNB]The left-back made an impressive international debut in Wednesday's friendly win over Egypt to boost his hopes of making the squad for South Africa.[LNB]'It shows that things can change fast,' Jagielka added.
