Former England international Paul Gascoigne has been charged with drink-driving.
The former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was arrested last month after an incident at a takeaway in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire.
The 42-year-old will appear at Northallerton Magistrates' Court on April 16.
Gascoigne was also charged with driving without insurance anddriving without a licence when he answered bail at Northallerton policestation yesterday (Sunday).
A 40-year-old man was charged with drink-driving, being in charge ofa motor vehicle while over the limit, driving while disqualified anddriving without insurance in connection with the same incident.
He will also appear at Northallerton Magistrates' Court on April 16.
Bothmen were arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a motorvehicle after police were called to Leeming Bar at 9.10pm on February7. They were later released on bail pending further inquiries.
