Osman blow for Toffees
06 Dec 2006 - 17:06:53
Everton boss David Moyes has been rocked by a midfield injury crisis ahead of the weekend trip to Portsmouth.
The Toffees were without skipper Phil Neville, Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta during last week's 2-0 victory over West Ham United.
Neville has an outside chance of shaking off knee ligament damage ahead of the trip to Fratton Park, but Moyes will now also be without Leon Osman who picked up a hamstring strain in the victory over the Hammers.
"It looks like we will be missing Leon at the weekend and that will be a shame," said Moyes.
"He took his goal well against West Ham and he was beginning to get back to the levels that we expect of him. He was looking sharp.
"When you think back to last year, it took him a while to get going then, too and maybe that is the case of what is happening now and he will follow a similar path.
"He was very effective for us around the turn of the year. It is something we could do without."
