Osman hoping for England recall

Everton midfielder Leon Osman has not given up hope of an England recall and wants to add to his two caps.

The 32-year-old made a surprise international debut against Sweden last November and played in the World Cup qualifier against San Marino in March but has not been selected since.

He has also found his place in Everton's midfielder under pressure, having been dropped for the weekend's 2-0 win at Villa.

However, England manager Roy Hodgson was present to see him come off the bench to score one and set up the other for Romelu Lukaku and that has given Osman hope.

"I couldn't have asked for much more. I was involved in the first goal and I scored the second, so it's pleasing when games go like that," he told evertontv.

"I didn't know Roy Hodgson was here. I was concentrating on the match.

"Obviously, I'm English and I'm still wanting to play. If the call came I'd be delighted, but I'm not going to get too carried away with things that aren't taking place on the pitch.

"I've got two caps. I wouldn't say I'd be satisfied to finish with that because you want to get as many as you can.

"I'm still playing in the top flight and there's a big competition coming in the summer so if there's a chance for you to go then you try and take it."
