o Everton move for Henrik Larsson
According to Larsson's agent Pavel Pogrebnyak, Moyes had been keeping tabs on the Swede for some time, but has now resigned himself to that fact that at 37, a salary of £80,000-a-week is not something the club can justify. [LNB]Moyes also indicated that unless they can find the right deal to sign a striker in January, they are more likely to look for loan deals. [LNB]Everton's strikers have all suffered this season. Louis Saha is out with hamstring trouble, Yakubu Aiyegbeni will struggle to be fit even for next season having recently had surgery on a ruptured Achilles and James Vaughan is currently in America having surgery on his knee. [LNB]Zenit St Petersburg striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, Wigan's Emile Heskey and Portsmouth's David Nugent are all said to be being considered. [LNB]With Everton standing down, Larsson, who the Independent [LNB]reports is a free agent come the start of his winter break, is running out of options. [LNB]There were suggestions last week that Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill was preparing to go head-to-head with Moyes, but this rumour has since been denied. [LNB]"There's not a scrap of truth about it," O'Neill told Sky Sports. "Henrik Larsson has been a fantastic footballer at Celtic, a world-class footballer, absolutely magnificent. I had a great time working with him. [LNB]"Those times have gone and it's really as simple as that. I think I'd like to keep those times for memory."[LNB]
