Preston North End striker David Nugent has reportedly set his heart on securing a move to Everton this summer.
The 22-year-old England international is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs, with two having had bids for Nugent's services accepted by the Lilywhites.
However, Nugent is rumoured to be waiting for his hometown outfit to enter the race for his signature.
A source close to Nugent is quoted in The Sun as saying: "He's a lifelong Blues fan and dreams of playing at Goodison Park.
"No approach has been made yet by boss David Moyes, but David still hopes a deal can be secured to take him there."
Meanwhile, Preston chairman, Derek Shaw, says no deal will be done in the immediate future as Nugent is away on holiday.
He told the club's official website: "Of the two clubs we gave permission to speak to David, we believe he met one on Friday.
"We are not sure at this stage if he has met the other club.
"We have been informed that David has now gone on holiday for a week and we are hoping to get an update from his representative."
