No move for Ignashevich

CSKA Moscow have denied claims that Sergei Ignashevich is heading to Everton this summer.

Club president Evgeny Giner had been quoted as saying the defender was set to leave the side from the Russian capital but now insists that is not the case.

He told CSKA's official website: "According to some media sources PFC CSKA has an interesting offer for Ignashevich, and I told the media about it.

"This is not true. We have no offers for Ignashevich currently so I didn't give any comments over Sergei, neither to local nor to international media."

The 29-year-old CSKA captain is considered to be one of the most skilled defenders in the Russian Premier League and has vast Champions League experience.

He signed for CSKA in 2004 after a successful spell at Lokomotiv Moscow and made his international debut in 2002.

He was a prominent figure in Russia's successful qualifying campaign for Euro 2008, missing only one game, and starred in both matches against England.
