Neville proud of Toffees

Phil Neville congratulated Chelsea following the FA Cup final but remained proud of Everton's run in the competition. Guus Hiddink's Blues ran out 2-1 winners at Wembley thanks to goals from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard. But they were forced to come from behind after Louis Saha had broken the deadlock for Everton just 25 seconds into the match. Neville had few complaints about the outcome but felt Everton could have remained more positive after scoring the early goal. He told Sky Sports News: "I don't think we could have asked for a better start to the game, but after that I thought we sat off too much and you can't allow good players time and space. "Louis Saha had a great chance just after half-time and then the second goal was a killer. "Once they scored that they may have scored a third goal. The better team won on the day." Saha's goal was the fastest ever to be scored in an FA Cup final and Neville concedes it came as quite as surprise to everyone. But he was always confident the Toffees would put up a stern fight after beating the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester United to reach the last Wembley showpiece. "It was a surreal start to the game but it typified our cup run this season," he explained. "The manager wanted us to be positive and we came flying out the blocks."
