Everton defender Phil Neville believes the form of the rapidly-improving Jack Rodwell is demanding the attention of England coach Fabio Capello. Neville views his team-mate, who has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, as one of the Barclays Premier League's most exciting prospects. The 19-year-old signed a five-year contract extension at Goodison Park in May and Neville believes the England Under-21 defensive midfielder is now ready to step up to the senior squad. "Jack excites me every time I see him play," said Neville, quoted on Everton's official website. "He's one of my favourite young players and if I was England manager I'd be looking to get him into the full squad. "Jack looks the type to me that the bigger the occasion, the better he gets. I know the captaincy for the Under-21s gave him a boost and took his game to another level. "He looked awesome and I think he's made vast strides this summer. With young players you are always going to have peaks and troughs but Jack is definitely one of the best youngsters around."
