Napoli hound Everton over Leighton Baines

According to the Daily Mail, Napoli are keen to bolster their squad with England left back Leighton Baines.

The local lad has also been linked away from Goodison Park with a proposed move to Manchester United. Everton insist no contact has been made by United or Sir Alex Ferguson.

Everton are looking in excess of £20 million and really want to keep the defender at the club. The steep price tag is likely to discourage Napoli who are looking at Baines to replace Andrea Dossena, who is currently in talks with AC Milan.

The club are expected to sell players over the summer but may let go others as a substitute. Tim Cahill who has been at the club since 2004 is yet to rule out the opportunity of a move to Saudi Arabia.

Cahill, who is currently on international duty, is wanted by Al Nassr but David Moyes is confident that the Australian will stay, Cahill said: “I am a massive fan of the Middle East, the cultures, the people. I respect them a lot. For me, it is just to focus on the Socceroos and we will see what happens later.”
