Naismith eyes Everton debut

Steven Naismith insists he is fit and ready to make his Barclays Premier League debut for Everton at home to Manchester United on Monday night - and hopes Toffees boss David Moyes feels the same.

The 25-year-old forward joined the Goodison Park club from Rangers in the summer after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury which decimated his last season at Ibrox.

"I am looking forward to it," he said. "I have a good pre-season and all that hard work is going to be put into practise."

He added: "Hopefully with what I have done in pre-season and what I do in training in the next few days, I can show the manager that I am capable of starting."
