Moyes welcomes back Cahill
27 Jul 2007 - 15:37:39
Everton manager David Moyes is delighted to have Tim Cahill back among his squad during pre-season training, with the midfielder having fully recovered from a foot injury.
The 27-year-old Australia international has just returned from international duty at the Asia Cup, having missed the end of last season after being injured in March against Sheffield United.
Moyes told the Daily Echo: "Tim started the season very well last year and got some goals so I'm hoping he'll come back the same.
"We're looking forward to having him back. We've not had him in the squad since the Sheffield United game when he broke his foot.
"He started back at Bellefield on Tuesday, so we're looking forward to getting him to join the squad on Monday.
"He got through the Asia Cup okay and he didn't start any of the games, so maybe he's had a bit of a rest and not done too much.
"But Tim is fit enough now to come back in and I'm hoping that he won't need to spend too much time on early pre-season fitness work."
