Moyes targets new recruits

Everton boss David Moyes accepted that his squad needs strengthening after seeing them lose 3-2 at home to Blackburn Rovers on the opening day of the new season.

Moyes was disappointed by the display from the Toffees, who conceded a last-minute clincher in front of the Goodison park faithful.

He told the club's official website: "We need to improve the concentration level because that's what it's all about. We can't concede like we did.

"We need to get the points in all our home games if we are going to be where we want to be. We are gutted because we wanted a winning start.

"We conceded three goals at home which I think is unusual for us. But we need to keep going now, we need to start thinking about what we need to improve.

"We know that we are very short on numbers, but we need to get the best out of the numbers that we've got at the moment.

"We can't ask any more from the lads. We're playing a lot of players out of position at the moment because of the numbers."
