Moyes slams AJ exit reports

Everton manager David Moyes has rubbished reports suggesting striker Andrew Johnson is poised to leave Goodison Park.

The England international striker has been linked with moves to a host of the Toffees' Premier League rivals, in particular Sunderland, during the past few weeks.

Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers were also mentioned as possible suitors.

However, Moyes is adamant the 27-year-old former Crystal Palace frontman is not heading out of the Merseyside club.

Johnson has netted 22 goals for the Toffees since his arrival in an £8.6million deal two years ago.

"Andy Johnson is not for sale, it is that simple," a defiant Moyes told the club's official website.

"He is a highly-valued member of my senior squad and I look forward to seeing him when the players report back for pre-season training."
