Everton boss David Moyes was a relieved man after seeing his side squeeze through to the group stage of the UEFA Cup with a 4-3 aggregate triumph over Metalist Kharkiv.
The Toffees twice had to come from behind to secure a 3-2 win in Ukraine, having been held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Goodison Park.
Afterwards, Moyes told the club's official website: "We wanted to get through, but the first round is always difficult and that proved to be the case again.
"They were a very good side and we did not play well in the first half. I had to change things around. It was a real blow to lose the second goal but we kept going.
"I really want to play regularly in Europe and it is proving tough even to get through the first round, so I'm delighted with the result.
"We should have done better at home. They made it really hard for us tonight and we're delighted to get the win."
