Moyes pleased with Saha deal

Everton manager David Moyes says it was an easy decision to bring injury-jinxed striker Louis Saha to the club from Manchester United.

The 30-year-old Frenchman could eventually cost the Toffees around £2million, having netted his first goal for his new club to seal a 1-0 victory at home to Fulham at the weekend.

Moyes told the Daily Post: "I didn't think it was a gamble because I thought he was a top-quality player, without having to shell out that sort of price.

"I wouldn't say it was a no-brainer, but the deal gave us a centre-forward who we wouldn't have been able to buy normally.

"I spoke to Carlos Queiroz about him. A few people who had been around him gave me incredible shouts about his ability and what he could do.

"Obviously his injury problems have been the thing, but with him not costing too much I knew it would be worth the gamble.

"The feedback and the structure of the deal made it a gamble worth taking. I have found him a really pleasant lad.

"I think he is happy with the chance we have given him and he is enjoying his stay at this present time."
