    Moyes opts to recall Ruddy

    27 Nov 2006 - 12:56:49

Everton manager David Moyes has recalled goalkeeper John Ruddy from his loan spell at Stockport County, and the former Cambridge United shot-stopper is expected to be on the substitute's bench for Wednesday's Premiership clash with Manchester United.

Ruddy returns to Goodison Park as Tim Howard, who is currently on loan at Everton from United, is ineligible to play in the match.

The 20-year-old moved to Edgeley Park in September and has made 11 League Two appearances for the Hatters.

Richard Wright is expected to start his first Premiership game of the season against United.

Meanwhile, Scotland inetrnational Gary Naysmith is close to returning to full training as he continues his recovery from a knee ligament injury.

Head physio Mick Rathbone told the club's official website: "Gary is doing absolutely everything now. He's been blasting the ball and we just want to ease him back into training."

However, Tony Hibbert is not scheduled to return to action until after the festive programme as he struggles back from the groin injury he sustained in last month's defeat at Middlesbrough.

Rathbone added: "Tony ruptured his groin muscle and it'll be the New Year for him, but he is making good progress."
