Everton manager David Moyes believes the best is yet to come from Ayegbeni Yakubu after the striker's goalscoring display in the 2-0 win over Derby County.
The Nigeria striker scored his third goal for the Toffees since his £11million move from Middlesbrough in August as he and Mikel Arteta put the struggling Rams to the sword at Pride Park.
"I have been impressed with Yakubu as a footballer and what he can do. I was pleased he scored today," Moyes told the club's official website.
"We want him to continue the record he has had a Portsmouth and Middlesbrough and just at the moment he has been missing.
"Today maybe just be the start where he goes on a run and scores five goals."
On the overall performance, he added: "It was controlled, hard to beat, didn't take any chances and in the end it was a good result.
"We didn't really look under a great deal of pressure.
"We knew it would be a tough game because Derby have a good record at home, but for long periods we had it under control."
