Everton boss David Moyes was delighted with the debut performance of the new Toffees attacking partnership of James Beattie and Andy Johnson in the 2-1 win over Watford.
Summer recruit Johnson got on the scoresheet after just 15 minutes of his Premiership bow for the Blues, linking up well with Beattie before seeing his shot deflect in off Hornets defender Lloyd Doyley.
Moyes told the Daily Post: "It was a different Everton I thought, when Andy was up front, than we were last season.
"I think everybody can see something bright, sharp and things were liable to happen and that's good.
"For the goal they linked up tremendously well. It was great twin-striker play.
"It was a decent partnership between them both and there will be more to come."
