Everton boss David Moyes is confident that injured striker Andrew Johnson will be fit enough to play in the club's next Premiership fixture at Middlesbrough.

The former Birmingham City and Crystal Palace forward was forced on Monday to pull out of the England squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against FYR Macedonia and Croatia because of the hamstring problem he sustained in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

Moyes told the club's official website: "It should take about ten days to heal.

"He couldn't play this weekend but he may be able to resume training before the trip to Middlesbrough.

"It's disappointing for Andrew, but it's just a case of wait and see at the moment."
