Moyes cool on Euro surge

Manager David Moyes is refusing to believe that his in-form Everton side can end a turbulent season with a place in Europe.

The Toffees moved up to ninth place in the table after edging out Wigan Athletic 1-0 on Saturday.

Tim Cahill's header six minutes from time extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to nine matches.

Back in November the ailing Toffees were in danger of being dragged into the relegation dogfight following a below-par start to the season.

But when asked about the possibility of continuing their upward momentum in order to finish in the European qualification places, Moyes replied: "We'll wait and see where it goes but who knows?

"We hoped we would have been in and around it before the season started, but the start we had to the season probably makes it a real long shot.

"We can't be aiming too high too soon. We'll wait and see how we go over the coming months and we have a tough month to come."
