Moyes confirms departures

Moyes confirms departures
Monday May 12 2008 09:02

Everton manager David Moyes has confirmed that Stefan Wessels and Thomas Gravesen will not be at Goodison Park next season.

Goalkeeper Wessels moved to the club from Cologne last summer but Tim Howard's form left him spending most of the season on the substitute's bench and the 28-year-old was restricted to only seven starts for the club.

Gravesen was on a season-long loan from Celtic but endured an injury-ravaged campaign, starting only three matches during his second spell on Merseyside.

Moyes told the Toffees' official website: "I'd like to thank Stefan Wessels who will be leaving us this summer.

"His level of professionalism has been a credit to him and he's been a great man to have around the club.

"Thomas Gravesen will also depart following the completion of his season-long loan. He deserves thanks for both his spells here and we wish him well for the future."
