Moyes calm on new Toffees deal

Everton manager David Moyes has insisted he is happy with his current contract situation and speaks to his chairman every day. Moyes has been in charge at Goodison Park for a decade and says he remains fully committed to the club, having masterminded an excellent start to the new season. His current deal will expire next summer but the manager maintains that is not a major issue and he is in no hurry to agree an extension as he focuses on matters on the field. "I am happy with the situation," said the Scot. "The chairman is as well. We talk on the phone every day, so it's nothing that needs to be resolved by any big talks. "We have a good relationship and when it comes to that, that's the way we will deal with it. My commitment to Everton is total and always will be." Everton face Southampton on Saturday and a victory could take them top of the table, if other results go their way, and Moyes admits it would be a huge boost to the confidence of everyone at the club. He explained: "Psychologically it would be a big thing. If you are in that top group, you start to think you can hang in there."
