Everton manager David Moyes has poured cold water on speculation that midfielder Mikel Arteta could seek a return to Spain in the summer.
The 24-year-old schemer had been linked with both Atletico Madrid and Real Zaragoza earlier on in the week, but Moyes says that Arteta is going nowhere.
He told the club's official website: "There is no chance of Mikel going.
"He is an integral part of what we are doing here and a valued member of our squad. He will not be sold.
"Even if someone in Spain wanted to buy him, they could not afford him."
Arteta has been at Goodison Park since January 2005, having initially impressed while on loan from Real Sociedad.
The one-time Rangers schemer has scored ten times in 76 appearances for Everton, including six goals already this season.
