Manager David Moyes conceded that a subdued Everton were off the pace after losing 1-0 at Wigan Athletic on Monday evening.

The in-form Toffees saw their five-game unbeaten run come to a halt at the JJB Stadium following a decisive strike early in the second half from Henri Camara.

"We've played better than that," admitted Moyes. "It was quite tight but I knew it would be a tough game.

"Wigan's not an easy place to come and they're a strong side, so you have to give them some credit.

"Hopefully we can pick up. We've played well recently prior to coming here and had been on a decent run, so hopefully we can pick up again."

Meanwhile, Moyes also revealed that injury-plagued striker James Vaughan faces around three months on the sidelines with a knee problem.

Louis Saha was also substituted during the match after reporting a stiff hamstring.
