David Moyes is eager for Everton to go one step further in next season's FA Cup after suffering final heartache at the hands of Chelsea. Louis Saha scored the fastest-ever goal in the history of the competition with his effort after 25 seconds in the blazing sunshine at Wembley. But Chelsea responded in style with goals in either half from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard making the West London outfit deserved winners. Moyes saluted his players for their efforts through the season and in particular in the cup, where they claimed several notable Premier League scalps. He told the club's official website: "You knock out Liverpool, you knock out Manchester United, you knock out Aston Villa; that's why I say we deserved to be here. "We couldn't knock over Chelsea today, but we've got to a final and maybe next year we can take that next step and win one. "The players have done ever so well throughout the season and done ever so well in the FA Cup. "I think Chelsea just had too much for us today. They were the better team, they used the conditions better than us and they settled far better than we did after our goal. Chelsea were worthy winners." Moyes had no complaints with the efforts of his team and felt his side were always in with a chance of snatching silverware, even when they fell behind. He added: "I'm very proud of the players and I've told them that. "They weren't out of place. The game was tight and I thought even when Chelsea scored their second we had a foothold in the game and played better. "You can't fault the players. I'm disappointed not to have a trophy but I'm still proud."
