Moyes Makes Pienaar Priority

Everton boss David Moyes has made resigning Steven Pienaar his next priority, after concluding a deal to bring former Rangers player Steven Naismith to the club.

Pienaar enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell at Goodison Park last season with first team opportunities at Tottenham proving few and far between.

Prior to Andres Villas Boas being appointed chief at White Hart Lane, Pienaar has claimed he could remain at Spurs.

Moyes however, remains confident that Pienaar favours a return to the Toffees and that this has always been the case.

He said: “We are keen and I hope in time we would be able to conclude that deal. Steven has made it very clear he wants to come back here and my understanding is that hasn’t changed.”

The main stumbling block could be Tottenham’s asking price, with the London outfit believed value the 30-year old at around the £5million mark.

Moyes also added that he has no intention of selling any of his key players, as he looks to launch his side back into Europe.

When asked about Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, he said: “I’ve heard nothing from nobody.

“We are always going to have interest in the players we have because we have good players but we don’t sell easy here and we try to build a team.
