David Moyes is ready to move for Werder Bremen’s Portugal striker Hugo Almeida, 24, to try and solve Everton’s lack of firepower. Hampered by injuries to Yakubu, Louis Saha and James Vaughan, Everton are exploring ways of signing Almeida on loan, with a view to a permanent deal this summer. Almeida made his Portugal debut in a 1-1 draw with England five years ago, and joined Werder Bremen from Porto.
