Moyes hoping for top four

David Moyes still believes that Everton can qualify for the UEFA Champions League, but only if they beat Aston Villa on Sunday.[LNB] The 45-year-old thought that a top-four finish was beyond his club's reach after they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth at the end of March.[LNB]Their 4-0 thumping of Wigan last Saturday has raised the Scotsman's hopes once again, but he admits Everton would have to rely on an Arsenal collapse in the final games of the season.[LNB]"For the Champions League, the answer is 'yes, it is a must win'," Moyes said.[LNB]"If we've any chance of qualifying for the Champions League we need to hang in there and hope Arsenal slip up.[LNB]Slip up"Who knows? Let's hope we can pick up the points, that Arsenal do slip up and we can catch them.[LNB]"If we do lose then that would only highlight the gap between them and us. [LNB]"But they've still got Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea to play in their remaining games, so if we can cut that gap to four then it would make it that much easier to get there.[LNB]"But you have to say Arsenal are in good form at the moment, and they've players back from injury, although they did lose a couple in the Champions League game in midweek."[LNB]Everton enter the clash at Villa Park in fine form, having lost only twice in 19 games. Their opponents, on the other hand are looking for their first win in 10.[LNB]StrongThe Toffees can move into fifth place with a win on Sunday, but Moyes insists that he will be satisfied with a finish in any of the European places. [LNB]"If we're looking at the Uefa Cup (next season the UEFA Europa League), we're both in a strong position for that," added Moyes.[LNB]"After all the turmoil we had at the start of the season, and with players missing, if you had told me that we would finish in the top 10 I would have shaken your hand.[LNB]"It shows what we've done over the years, showed what the players are all about, and showed we are a side worthy of the top end of the league than near the bottom."[LNB]The Everton boss played down any suggestions that Villa's poor form meant it would be an easy game on Sunday.[LNB]"They've a great manager, they're still a good team and they are still in a strong position, but of course we'd like to try and climb over them if we can," Moyes said.[LNB]
